How To Save Your Strands!!!

Hey ladies,

As many of you may have noticed the temperatures have dropped drastically!! With the Fall and Winter months approaching we must take hair precautions. Due to the increased chill and dry winds this has been proven to be very harsh on your strands. I am encouraing you all to moisturize and keep your ends hydrated and sealed. The best way to seal and secure your ends which are the oldest parts of your hair is through oils and water.  The most highly reccomended oils I have and use are EVOO(extra virgin olive oil), JoJoba Oil, and Coconut oil. These oils if use during styling and after styling are very good at sealing and protecting your ends. I still reccommend routine dusting and trimming of your ends as you deem neccessary but with the cold air we must protect out ends.

I also reccomend protective/low maintence styling because this helps save and preserve your ends as well. When I suggest protective styling I am referring to styles such as twist, top knots, puff balls, shingles, coil outs, and braid outs. Protective styles will limit the amount of manipulation of your hair and this will help save strands and retain length. I would also suggest ladies to becareful and cautious about going out in the weather with wet hair that is the perfect way to get really sick and we are divas who not only believe in healthy hair practices but over all heath.

Another great way to protect your hair during these winter months is by wearing hats and scarves these are great and fashionable tools that will protect hair from hair winter air. Also ladies it is good to put together a winter hair schedule and stick to it because this will help with maintaining healthy natural hair during the cold.

I hope my tips have helped you today and as always I wish you well!!

Going With What Works and Simply Being The Best You!!

Hey Ladies!!

Hello and Happy Fall to each of you!! Today I am coming with a bit of a conversational topic it describes a recent experience. So as you know with being natural its all about embracing who you are and loving your natural self. In my opinion being natural is more than just hair it is the over all person. I want to encourage you to love who you are embrace yourself  no matter the color of your skin, texture of your hair, fullness of hips and lips, love who you are and that energy will exit into the universe and return to you!!

Recently I was styling my hair and as any woman does I asked for an opinion from a close family relative and that relative simply replied it looks alright. In my head I am thinking just alright nothing else hmm.... So the next response was its kind of bulky I am not use to it or what it is suppose to look like. So I went and gave my hair a second look and I decided I like the creative style I had and chose to wear the look.

I mentioned my recent happening to so say that in embracing the natural there will be many times when those around you just won't get it or your look and they may disapprove of how you choose to be but if you are being true to who you and you are happy and love it!! Let no one and I mean no one challenge or sway you from being and expressing who you really are!! I would only say that if it makes you happy and you are not hurting others in doing you go head girl and do you!!

Many people may not get it or understand but its not about them or is it for them to understand. I hoep this encourages someone to day!! Continue ladies to Be Bold!! Be Beautiful!! Be You!!!  The World needs your Uniqueness!!

Blessings!!!

Protein Treatment Review***

Hey Ladies,

I first would like to apologize for being away too long! I recently started a new job and the training and preparation has kept me away from my first love hair and beauty. But I am back and I plan to stay consistent from hence forth!!!!

Today I am reviewing a product I recently tried out. I decided to try out a Aphogee protein treatment recently you know the sticky stuff that makes your hair really hard. I had been hearing different stories about the benefit of protein treatment and the strength they can provide to color treated or process hair and even for colored natural like myself.

I was led to try this product due to shedding and what appeared to be dry and brittle ends. I know that being colored hair strands are broken down a bit by the color to allow the color to process and this causes hair to become dry and brittle.  So I had been moisturizing and trying everything but my ends still felt rough so I though I would give this protein a try!!

To my surprise I actually love the results and I instantly could tell a difference in my hair and ends. I was so afraid that I might have to do a a huge trim instead of routine dusting. But after the treament I saw that what appeared to be dry and brittle was still strong and resilient.

Ladies with the approaching winter months I suggest trying a protein treatment especially if you have colored hair or any kind of chemical processing on your natural hair it will help protect and aid it against the dry wind and winter air. Again I have to say that I loved this product and I will be using it again soon!

It is not suggested to use this regularly because with anything thing too much can cause great damage or alter the results!! But good luck share your story!!
