Going through the Motions!

Today is one of those days when nothing is really wrong but nothing is really right either. I am sitting here bored with work and yet craving another beach or tropical vacation. There is a part of me that just wants to be free you know just escape to a place where there is nothing but natural sound and still ness of being that surrounds me. I want it to be optional to go into work or stay home I want it to be optional to just be no rules!!! No because I have to thoughts just fucking go and be and do what ever appeases me. Believe it or not I don't have many days when I can do what I want to do! Its always what's best for everyone or myself alone. Or perhaps....

Maybe its the holiday blues or that funk some of us experience as the holidays approaches. Lately I wonder about so many things in my life I see my peers growing in their careers, falling in love, marrying, traveling, buying homes and creating families. I feel stuck, consumed, just in a rut!  I am sitting here at work with a cheap coffee searching the internet looking for answers on the who, what , where, and how? Some would say those answers are within me but fuck I got nothing?  Maybe Oprah can help but she's only going to reference a book that I will be stuck trying to figure when the hell to read it!

How is it some people have always seemed so sure of life and the directions to take. I for one feel as though these last couple of years I have been winging it! You know just going with instinct and hoping like hell I don't fuck up!  I really hope my seconds, minutes, hours, and this day gets better because at present I am going through the motions. I am not sure who will read this but I am sure you can agree that some days are just like this.  If only I could start and end my day with Yoga!!!

Black Love and Pride (Respect For Our Own)

Society prefers to have us think that we no longer love our own. However I believe that is a lie!! One thing I have discovered is that when a Black King discovers his Queen and chooses to build with her he has then found a piece of himself. Today we see the images of our culture displayed in TV reality shows and high drama fashions and our youth believes this to be real.  Society offers us images of our men choosing women of other racial back grounds as preference. With those numbers being  a small few and its shows our sisters as high tempered angry black women and that being a lie as well.

I have a hope that the natural beauty and class of a black woman is alive and well and she is still as radiant and demanding of attention as ever.

Our daughters need to know that their beauty lies not in the amount of makeup used to cover their flaws or the amount of extensions applied to their hair to add fullness and length. We need to teach them that the illusions of who are do not capture the full scope of a beautiful black woman. In our culture there are so many strikes against us its up to us as a people to teach and share the beauty of our heritage and history with our babies.

We have to teach our boys at a young respect for his mother and women in his life. For it is in the rearing of our children at an early age will they learn to respect family and bonds.

Today in our time there are too many youth with no clue of who they are and what respect means for self and others its our job to teach that.( For a man with no clue of his history is lost indeed).

I am a lover of all but I have the most supreme love for my people!! They are me (I am them )

we are together a strong people of pride and beauty!! I love being Black and I love Black love!!

Why Does It Seem Good Finish Last?

Recently I took to my facebook page asking for topic suggestions and one of my facebook friends asked me to write about Why It Seems Good People Finish Last!

Personally I do not believe that the good finish last but I do believe that anything worth having is worth waiting for whether its a job, relationship, family peace, prosperity, and all the greater things we desire in life.

One of my favorite comedians quoted that first would be last and last would be first-Katt Williams.

I believe that sometimes we fight and go through things and it seems everyone around us are prospering and achieving but our situation seems dull and bleak. Many of us are living right ,praying and believing God yet still its seems nothing is happening. Have you ever looked around you and saw those who seemed to be of the world or Godless doing well and getting all the stuff they wanted and wonder why me? Bishop Jakes

I believe that there are some God chooses and anyone God chooses he hand picks and we are the ones who will be tested and tried because the devil does not like the fact that we are Gods chosen so therefore he tries us and throws things to try and stop us from getting to what God has for us.

I believe that we must continue to believe and trust and not compare or look at others situation. God gave us each our own journeys and he never intended for us to battle alone. If we just remember to include him in our everyday life and in all of our decisions and know that through it all he is with us.

A favorite quote of mine (When I was walking along I only saw two foot steps but then I realized that the reason I did not see four foot steps was because when I could go no longer he carried me). God never leaves us and when we are confident in his ability and we never finish last.

The great thing about living a life with a understanding that God has you is that you are always the winner in any endeavor or trouble you may face.

I want to say DON"T STOP BELIEVING< DONT GIVE UP< DONT'T WORRY< YOU ARE A WINNER AND ITS NOT HOW SWIFT YOU ARE BUT ITS STAYING IN THE RACE AND ENDURING TO THE END!!!
