Confidence Is your Best Assessory!!!! (Wear It)
Hey Ladies,
I am writing you to speak on the topic of confidence. In today's society we constantly see images of beauty and how to be attractive but many fail to acknowledge and put special emphasis on exuding confidence.
Confidence defined- is having or showing assurance and self-reliance
Today you find many forms of beauty and ways to make our selves more appealing but what happens when you take away all the superficials items. I have discovered while on my natural journey that my confidence and ability to trust myself has been my best assessory. Many times a person with much confidence may not be the ideal candidate or even the best person for the job but because they had confidence and assured trust in one's ability they were given the opportunity or even looked upon as more favorable or attractive.
Many women today battle with the issue of being beautiful and ideal in the eye of our male counterparts. I have discovered that the most attractive asset in the eyes of a mature man is confidence. Many times I have found myself in situations where I had to go into a situation knowing that I looked my best and that I was just a great as my opponents.
I believe that Confidence is something that comes from within no one can give you this asset. Confidence is an ability to trust one's instinct and go out into the world giving your best and knowing that you are good enough.
Confidence is the ability to transfer your energy and set the thermostat or temperature in a place simply by showing up and being just who you are!!
Today ladies I want to encourage you to walk with your chest out, head up and smile. Ladies do not be afraid to put on your best outfit, do your makeup, and dab some lip stick on for flair. Whatever you do I encourage you to think big and say to yourself I am good enough and today I will set the pace the energy I give off is high and positive energy. When I walk into a room the temperature goes up!!
I hope this message encourages you and uplifts you today!!
Blessings,
Minah

How To Save Your Strands!!!
Hey ladies,
As many of you may have noticed the temperatures have dropped drastically!! With the Fall and Winter months approaching we must take hair precautions. Due to the increased chill and dry winds this has been proven to be very harsh on your strands. I am encouraing you all to moisturize and keep your ends hydrated and sealed. The best way to seal and secure your ends which are the oldest parts of your hair is through oils and water. The most highly reccomended oils I have and use are EVOO(extra virgin olive oil), JoJoba Oil, and Coconut oil. These oils if use during styling and after styling are very good at sealing and protecting your ends. I still reccommend routine dusting and trimming of your ends as you deem neccessary but with the cold air we must protect out ends.
I also reccomend protective/low maintence styling because this helps save and preserve your ends as well. When I suggest protective styling I am referring to styles such as twist, top knots, puff balls, shingles, coil outs, and braid outs. Protective styles will limit the amount of manipulation of your hair and this will help save strands and retain length. I would also suggest ladies to becareful and cautious about going out in the weather with wet hair that is the perfect way to get really sick and we are divas who not only believe in healthy hair practices but over all heath.
Another great way to protect your hair during these winter months is by wearing hats and scarves these are great and fashionable tools that will protect hair from hair winter air. Also ladies it is good to put together a winter hair schedule and stick to it because this will help with maintaining healthy natural hair during the cold.
I hope my tips have helped you today and as always I wish you well!!
Yours Naturally,
Minah

Going With What Works and Simply Being The Best You!!
Hey Ladies!!
Hello and Happy Fall to each of you!! Today I am coming with a bit of a conversational topic it describes a recent experience. So as you know with being natural its all about embracing who you are and loving your natural self. In my opinion being natural is more than just hair it is the over all person. I want to encourage you to love who you are embrace yourself no matter the color of your skin, texture of your hair, fullness of hips and lips, love who you are and that energy will exit into the universe and return to you!!
Recently I was styling my hair and as any woman does I asked for an opinion from a close family relative and that relative simply replied it looks alright. In my head I am thinking just alright nothing else hmm.... So the next response was its kind of bulky I am not use to it or what it is suppose to look like. So I went and gave my hair a second look and I decided I like the creative style I had and chose to wear the look.
I mentioned my recent happening to so say that in embracing the natural there will be many times when those around you just won't get it or your look and they may disapprove of how you choose to be but if you are being true to who you and you are happy and love it!! Let no one and I mean no one challenge or sway you from being and expressing who you really are!! I would only say that if it makes you happy and you are not hurting others in doing you go head girl and do you!!
Many people may not get it or understand but its not about them or is it for them to understand. I hoep this encourages someone to day!! Continue ladies to Be Bold!! Be Beautiful!! Be You!!! The World needs your Uniqueness!!
Blessings!!!

Protein Treatment Review***
Hey Ladies,
I first would like to apologize for being away too long! I recently started a new job and the training and preparation has kept me away from my first love hair and beauty. But I am back and I plan to stay consistent from hence forth!!!!
Today I am reviewing a product I recently tried out. I decided to try out a Aphogee protein treatment recently you know the sticky stuff that makes your hair really hard. I had been hearing different stories about the benefit of protein treatment and the strength they can provide to color treated or process hair and even for colored natural like myself.

I was led to try this product due to shedding and what appeared to be dry and brittle ends. I know that being colored hair strands are broken down a bit by the color to allow the color to process and this causes hair to become dry and brittle. So I had been moisturizing and trying everything but my ends still felt rough so I though I would give this protein a try!!
To my surprise I actually love the results and I instantly could tell a difference in my hair and ends. I was so afraid that I might have to do a a huge trim instead of routine dusting. But after the treament I saw that what appeared to be dry and brittle was still strong and resilient.
Ladies with the approaching winter months I suggest trying a protein treatment especially if you have colored hair or any kind of chemical processing on your natural hair it will help protect and aid it against the dry wind and winter air. Again I have to say that I loved this product and I will be using it again soon!
It is not suggested to use this regularly because with anything thing too much can cause great damage or alter the results!! But good luck share your story!!

Hydrating hair retaining Moisture!!
Hey Ladies,

I am coming to you to clear up a few things regarding moisture. I have met alot of naturals who have style products such as cremes and butters confused with retaining moisture. Style cremes and butters are great but the question regarding those products is what is the product doing for the hair. Alot of style products are simply what they are style products they either fight frizz or add hold. Now again usage for such reason as fighting frizz and adding hold are good but are you maintaining moisture this aids in keeping hair soft and strong.
Are you moisturizing? I have come to find many naturals like to co-wash that is simply washing with water and conditioner and then proceed to styling. You are on the right track but to retain moisture you have to go a step further and that is to seal into the follicle of your hair.
How do I seal moisture? One of the best ways to moisturize hair is with water in order to retain the the water it must be sealed. The chemistry with sealing is knowing that the water penetrates the hair but the oil locks it in. Have you ever seen oil in it liquid form and then when it cools it thickens. In sealing water into the hair follicle simply imagaine my previous example with the water being the liquid penetrating the hair follicle and the oil thickening over the strand to lock it in the hair follicle.
In learning the difference in using a style product to retain style and understanding how to retain moisture I have less breakage. My hair is always soft and my hair has great length and shine thanks to the oil!
One last thing it is always good to practice sealing in moisture with an oil that is light enough to penetrate the hair follicle and as many of you know I am a advocate what the benefits of Coconut oil.!!
Well ladies that is all for now so get to sealing and let me know how it works out for you!!

Minah

It's September A time for reflection***
Hey Ladies,
I know it has been a while but I am coming to you with great reflection in the next few weeks I will be celebrating my one year Natural Versary!!!! It was this time last year I was contemplating going natural I had begun my research on the process of transitioning to natural. I had not full made my decision but I felt the pull heavily on my heart that this was going to be my next big change. It took weeks of watching videos and tutorials to actually decide this was the journey for me. I look at my hair now and I am amazed at the growth and progress of my hair so much has changed and I have learned and gained so much in this journey.
I never thought I could fall in love with my hair the way have I have. For me going natural was more than a hair style change it was a lifestyle change. I truly believe that when I decided to make this change my world change. I have been able to fully embrace my inner and outer beauty. It was through my big chop picture I met an awesome guy who keeps me smiling and who fully loves and accepts me naturally.
I encourage many women that I meet on a daily that being natural is so much fun. I truly believe naturals have way more fun!!! I have had so many of my friends make the big switch from relaxed to natural and now we sit and talk for hours and just swap stories.
Concluding I want to encourage those who are just embracing and beginning this journey don't give up it does take patience but you can never fail at learning just keep at it!!!

Foundations of an Olympian The gift of Sacrifice**
Hello All,
Recently we watched on the world stage a young lady by the name of Gabrielle Douglas compete for Gold medals and do something that has never been done by a African American female. Gabby Douglas competed with Team USA Women's Gymnastics Team and won her first Gold medal with TEAM USA. However to much more galore she also made it to the ALL Around Finals to compete for her own individual Gold Medal. Making history this young lady at the tender age of 16 is the first African American female to win two Gold medals for all around best Gymnastics in the world.
From the day Gabby set foot in London she has had fans cheering, praying and supporting her. Behind this young lady is a powerful story. Gabby was raised by a single mother of four who has worked hard to take care of her children and support them in their dreams!
Today I want to salute her mother and all the single mothers around the world who did what others have once looked down upon and that was step up and raise all star kids. I am giving honor to Gabby's mom because she has done this alone and she has managed to keep her family together. Raising one of the world's greatest gymnast was not always the joys of watching her being crowned the world's greatest gynast . I commend her because I know when I look back over my life and all the high and lows and days of wanting to quit and give up on an endeavor it was my strong mother and grandmother who believed in me and saw the vision. I know that support system from which Gabby comes from I too have had the support of my mother and Grandmother and my sibling Xa which many times be it through encouraging words or acts of kinds gave me that push I needed when I didn't feel it or see in it in myself.
Today I salute Gabby, her mom, and siblings for the love and support because it has shown to be a strength. And to0 many times the media and society fails to acknowledge the strength of the single mother her character and sacrifices. I know there are some who lack the characteristics but there are far too many that deserves all the honor and awards to be given when these mothers give up so much to see the dreams of their children full-filled. I felt a compelling pull to share my thoughts and feelings on this subject so today I honor all single mother's doing it and Gabby's Mom because through her the foundations of an Olympian was born through the gift of love and sacrifice I salute you!!
